Since 2016, Mrs. Simplis Barrow in collaboration with the Belize Women's Department has been hosting the National Outstanding Women's Awards Ceremony. The ceremony takes place each year during the month of March which is observed as Women's Month.

In addition to receiving an award from their nominating agency, each awardee is presented with a gift basket from Grace Kennedy Company Limited.

 

The awardees are nominated by different partner organizations that play an active role in the empowerment of Belize’s women. Each year the number of awardees increases.
