In honor of Mother’s Day, in 2017, Mrs. Simplis Barrow hosted a Mother's Day Tea Party for twelve deserving women from across the country for their outstanding contributions to their families, communities, and respective organizations. The event also recognized mothers who have sacrificed to ensure that their children receive an education; mothers who work tirelessly at home and in the professional sphere; and mothers who, without a moment's thought, would abandon her dreams and aspirations for the sake of her children. 

 

The twelve mothers nominated were honored in the presence of their families, friends, and other distinguished guests on May 12th, 2017, at the Best Western Belize Biltmore Plaza Hotel.

 

In addition to organizing a Tea Party, a production company, Tas Belize Limited, was hired to journey across Belize to interview and capture the mothers in their natural settings (at home or work). The video took the shape of a short documentary and was debuted the evening of the Tea Party. The video was later shared with the various media houses, on the Special Envoy Youtube channel and other social media platforms. The short documentary was also shared on the Special Envoy website to reach and inspire the masses.
