Special Envoy Visits Children’s Homes Across the Country to Distribute School Supplies

The Special Envoy Mrs. Kim Simplis Barrow travelled across the country to all nine children’s homes to distribute donated school supplies as a part of her back to school drive. This initiative which impacted over two hundred and eighty five children was born out of the Special Envoy’s belief that these children are often overlooked. Mrs. Kim Simplis Barrow is proud to have been able to extend her advocacy efforts to assist these disadvantaged children during one of the most exciting yet costly times in the school year. The Special Envoy would like to express a sincere thank you to the Embassy of the United States, the Belize Social Security Board, Benny’s Home Center, and Stationary House for their contributions toward this initiative. She would also like to thank Deputy Chief of Mission from the Embassy of the United States, Ms. Adrienne Galanek, who accompanied her to distribute the donated supplies to Hopewell Children’s home in Scotland Halfmoon on the Flowers Bank Road. The Special Envoy was pleasantly surprised with the level of care and infrastructural improvements and additions that have taken place within the various children’s homes over the past few years. She commends the home managers and caretakers for their continued efforts and encourages organizations to donate to children’s homes whenever possible.
