In 2016, with the two-pronged aim of giving back and assisting those who are affected by Gender-Based Violence, Mrs. Simplis Barrow designed an “Empowerment T-shirt” to raise awareness, and generate funds for one of Belize’s domestic violence victims’ shelter, Haven House.  The T-shirt pictures a wing on the right shoulder to symbolize freedom from violence with the hashtag #endgenderbasedviolence on the back.
